Vision, hard work, tenacity and patience

Our company is named after a small town in regional South Australia. Lucindale is in an area that was known as the South East before the marketing people renamed it the Limestone Coast. This is wine country, producing some of the best cabernet sauvignon and shiraz on earth, but before wine, people like my grandfather ran sheep stations. This is where my family comes from.

Early in the last century and shortly after the first world war, my grandparents bought land outside Lucindale. This wasn’t farming country yet… it was undeveloped bush and scrub. It would take a lifetime of hard work to build this land into a productive sheep station producing fine Merino wool.

The story of this farm is a story of vision, hard work, tenacity and patience. It’s also a story about people working together and building something from nothing - more than a home and improved pasture - family and friendships and reputation. It’s a story of teamwork.
